The 1st Trailer for ANIMALS

The UK Trailer is here.... And one in SPANISH? Damn....

06.10 Spector's new graphic novel THE NYE INCIDENTS, co-created with NY Times bestseller Whitley Streiber, (Communion) was a June 2008 release from Devils Due Publishing, and has been optioned as a feature film by Dark Castle/Warner Bros./Silver Pictures with Todd Lincoln (Hack/Slash) attached to direct.

1998-2009 SMASH-CUT (R.I.P.) -- the brilliant and eclectic band consisting of virtuouso guitarist/vocalist Preston Sturges, Jr., drummer extraordinaire Richard Christian Matheson, and legendarily avuncular yet truculent bassist/vocalist Craig Spector commited the prodigious feat of recording enough insanely great material to release 3 CDs -- or a premiere 3-CD set... and then promptly broke up just as the ten song DEMO CD was being completed. Few got the hear them and see their live performances over the years, but a glimpse of what it what was like was immortalized by writer Philip Nutman:
Alas such is the common fate of rock and roll... though most of the tracks are destined to undeserved obscurity, you lucky few can hear them and even see a rare 2007 TV studio performance by clicking on the reverbnation link below. Cheers, and adieu!

The Bragelonne Edition of UNDERGROUND has won Le Prix Masterton: Best Translated Novel of Horror in 2008!

06.07: ANIMALS finally makes it to production! From Variety:
ACTORS FLOCK TO 'ANIMALS'
Andrews, Blucas, Amurri set for horror film
By DAVE MCNARY
Anonymous Content ("Babel") and T&C Pictures have signed Mark Blucas, Nicki Aycox, Eva Amurri, Andy Comeau and Naveen Andrews for the horror film "Animals," which begins production this week in Salt Lake City.
"Animals" is produced by Barry Rosenbush and Bill Borden, who teamed on the "High School Musical" telepics, and exec produced by Anonymous Content's Paul Green and T&C's Arata Matsushima.
Craig Spector ("A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child") adapted his original novel, which he co-wrote with John Skipp. Helming the pic is first-time director Doug Aarniokoski, assistant/second unit director on projects for Robert Rodriguez such as "Once Upon a Time in Mexico."
Story centers on a blue-collar man in a dying factory town whose life is jolted after becoming involved in a romantic triangle amid a spate of uncontrolled violence.
Upcoming Anonymous pics include "Married Life," "Case 39," "Rendition" and "Smiley Face." T&C was formed in January by Matsushima, a former exec at Sony Pictures Television Intl., and has completed its first film, "American Pastime."
Date in print: Wed., Jun. 20, 2007, Los Angeles

04.06 On
April 20 Spector had the extreme pleasure of sitting in with the legendary
Bob Malone band
at a return engagement at the Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood.
The joint was packed, the band was on fire, and by all accounts Spector
held his own quite nicely with nine other monster musicians, especially
on a swingin' tune from Bob's new album, Born Too Late, called Who
Cares If It's Halloween ("There ain't no monsters
in this joint scarier than the human race...") Audio and
video clips coming soon, both here and on Spector's myspace page,
stay tuned...

03.06 Trumor
has it that Spector has teamed up with bestselling author Whitley
Strieber [Wolfen, Communion] on a new project called
THE NYE INCIDENTS. A
serial killer stalks the UFO/alien abductee subculture... and it's
allegedly inspired by actual events! Originally developed in conjunction
with Wolper Entertainment for the screen, Strieber
and Spector are so taken with the material that they're thinking
of doing the book version.

03.06 Spector has recently optioned
ANIMALS (Skipp & Spector's classic werewolves-in-blues-bars novel)
for development as a feature film, with a new script by Spector.
Faithful to the original gritty saga of one man's lost weekend gone
wild, the screen version further expands the mythology into epic
(and franchisable) scale. Stay tuned to further developments...

03.06 Trumor
has it that Spector's latest novel, UNDERGROUND, is currently being
adapted as a graphic novel by Italian artist Andrea Caveletto. Pages
are under wraps but an example of Cavaletto's work can be seen in
this portrait of Spector:
